Hello scrappy friends! It’s Zinia again to share some more creations using the gorgeous April 2017 kits.
The April kits are really so versatile and I’m having so much fun challenging my creativity and creating unique color palettes for my layouts.
For this page I used a Maggie Holmes paper as my background. I added some more white ink and splatters on my background ti give it a bit more depth. I wanted to keep my colors light and pastel with a few pops of gold and hot pink.
It is a bit challenging to work with a limited color palette as there are not always many embellishments that would match. But I’m always up for the challenge so I had a lot of fun putting together this page.
I added a few paper layers behind my photo to help it stand out and then build a small cluster around using chipboard flowers.
To balance my composition, I added a smaller cluster at the top left corner of my page. I tried to include all the colors that I used on the rest of the page and then I helped everything come together by adding some hot pink ink splatters.
Also, once I got my April kits, I started working on my monthly traveler’s notebook insert. If you saw any of my previous notebooks, you can definitely guess what paper I used for my cover. I have a huge obsession with floral patterns so once again I couldn’t resist.
For the pages, I mixed in a couple pattern papers from the Main kit and also a piece of the gorgeous acetate that came in the Paper Ad-on.
I really love the way the acetate looks in the book, letting the next page peek through. Not to mention that the gold glitter dots are magical!
Even when I turn the page over, I really like how the photo sits on the journaling that I have on the other page. It’s kinda like a DIY pattern paper.
On this page, I kept things really light and minimal, creating sort of a romantic atmosphere. Although it’s not actually related to my photo and the story, I really love how it turned out.
So these are my projects for today. I really hope you enjoyed them and you got inspired to create something with your kits. Make sure to stop by the HKC Facebook page and the HKC Member Forum for even more inspiration.
Until next time, happy scrapping🙂
Thank you for the beautiful inspiration – I particularly enjoy the simplicity of the layout.
