Hello scrappy friends! It’s Zinia here to share with you a really fun technique to create an interactive multi-photo layout using my April 2017 Hip Kits.
The idea came from a minibook I created a while ago. I didn’t have any rings to bind it so I just used tape to stick the pages together. That’s how I thought about taping some project life cards on my scrapbook page and creating a flip book.
I chose some of my favorite cards from the April 2017 Project Life kit arranged them, spaced them equally and made marks on my background to know where to place them.
I decided to add a strip of pattern paper and a strip of hot pink cardstock to the side for some extra pop of color. I placed my flip book approximately in the center of the page and adhered every card using strips of tape at the top.
I’m really happy that the cards were singled sided so I had plenty of space on the back side to put my photos along with some embellishments.
I mixed embellishments from all the kits but I made sure to avoid very bulky things like the buttons cause I didn’t want the flaps to sit at a weird angle and have too much dimension.
For the rest of the page I kept my embellishments very minimal. I wanted to create a confetti look around my faux flip book so I added all sorts of tiny embellishments along with colorful mist splatters.
In addition to this layout, I want to share with you the finished traveler’s notebook I create for the month of March.
Again I used my most favorite floral paper from the March kits as my cover and added the month and year with some thickers.
This time I mixed a few pattern papers in the pages when I stapled the notebook together. I also added some extra cd pockets to play around with different materials and add more variety.
These notebooks are really the perfect place to use up embellishments that feel harder to use on scrapbook layouts or products you have multiple times. For example I loved this border of tickets on the side of the page.
I also decided to use the numbers from Dear Lizzy Lovely Day collection that came in the March 2017 Project Life kit to list some of the highlights of the month.
I really love making these notebook to document the small things every month. In the past I kept struggling to keep up with project life but I think traveler’s notebooks are the perfect system for my monthly memory keeping.
So these are my projects for today. I really hope you enjoyed them and you got inspired to create something with your kits. Make sure to stop by the HKC Facebook page and the HKC Member Forum for even more inspiration.
Until next time, happy scrapping🙂
