Celebrating Sienna | Renae Bowell

Hey Lovelies, Nae here again on this beautiful Friday to share with you my first layout using the BEAUTIFUL April kits!! Oh my gosh I love these kits and all the pinks and greens in it. Another piece of the kits I am also in love with is that beautiful specialty acetate with the gold dot polka dots? Yeah, I just had to use that as a whole sheet background for my layout.

It may not look like much in photos, just a white background with polka dots.. But in real life, once I put this beauty in a 12×12 frame, that acetate is really going to pop! The layout itself also unintentionally turned into a love heart shape design. From the formation of the ferns and flowers, to the triangular effect of the title, it all works to create this visual illusion of a heart.

You all know my love for typography. I was never a big title fan on my layouts, I preferred the embellishments and the photo tell the story, but now that I am lucky to get so many alphas and stickers in my kits, I love mixing font, and style to create a really interesting title. It is also important to structure your titles well. Try and get creative and don’t just stick everything in a straight line like you are reading a book. Make some visual shapes with your title to create extra interest.

Not talking about these lovelies is almost a crime. Those palm frond ephemera from the Oasis collection… Oh Em Gee!! I absolutely love them. That and the adorable floral paper that I fussy cut and formed the starting point for this layout.. These two items alone really defined how this layout was going to turn out.

I loved the leaves so much I had to grab that awesome cut file for April and cut out extras out of the amazing green palm patterned paper and of course vellum. That green palm paper.. Now I am no where a lover of green, or even green and pink together, but this collection of leaves and flowers just makes me swoon with happiness.

Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my layout girlies. Don’t forget to run and grab your cut files and have a play. They are so amazing and I can’t wait to see what you create with them.

Love you guys,
