Hi Hip kit fans –

It’s Laureen with you today and I am sharing a new layout with the April kits !
First off, I have a confession to make . Now when the kits were released I liked the April kits but I didn’t think I would love them as much as I loved other kits – summery products and pineapples are just not my thing *I thought*.

Then today the box full of yummy goodies arrived and it had me swooning and oh-ing and ah-ing because I am obsessed with everything included! Kim’s cut files for this month are extra beautiful so I had to use them on my page and I immediatly knew I would create a wreath of some sort out of the leaves.

I chose the Pink Paislee Paper 08 and cut some of the leaves out of it and the rest out of one Crate Paper Oasis paper. I couldn’t pass on the florals, so I cut them out of white cardstock and colored them in with some watercolors.

I like to arrange everything before I actually stick it down, that way I can fiddle around and move bits and bobs until I like their placement. For my leaves I attempted to do some mixed media and completely failed – it looked greated in my head but not so much on the paper. So I just grabbed some spray mists and sprinkled a circle onto my page.
I guess you can’t really see the circle too much, right? ;D

After the mist was dry I placed the leaves and three florals in a circle and stuck them down with the tiniest amount of glue because I used my sewing machine to secure them.

Embellishing with the Crate Paper Oasis ephemera and buttons was super easy, yet it looks amazing!

Now let’s talk about the Alphas – the teal and gold is perfect and they are exclusive to the kit! Combined with the Crate Paper word stickers they are a match made in heaven and make the perfect title for a summery page!
