CHRISTMAS WEEK IN PROJECT LIFE | JESSICA COLE

Happy 2017! It’s such a great feeling to start a new year, but I’m determined to finish my 2016 project life album. Today, I’m going to walk you through  week 51 that covers the week of Christmas.

Purple and blue aren’t traditional Christmas colors, but I’m so over red and green so I welcomed the change.

Since it was a holiday week, I busted out my sewing machine with some gold thread to accent many of the cards you’ll see in the layout. For my title card, I went with the calendar card from the kit and highlighted the days of the week in a pastel purple highlighter. I wanted to add a bit more to it, so I used a stripped banner embellishment, cut it in half and covered the bottom of the card. I ran this through my sewing machine and called it done.

Does anyone else love the tabs from the kit? I used a square photo matted against the chevron card, and sewed one of those tabs on the top, along with a gold acrylic sticker from the Main Kit.

This is probably one of my favorite cards in the spread. I cut down the “a few of my favorite things” card a bit smaller than 3×4, then matted it against a purple stripped card to add some interest. I sewed around the edge in zig zag pattern and love the result.

I was so excited to get acrylic shapes in this month’s kit, that I knew I had to go big. This family photo of us had a lot of white space, so I pulled the blue and purple colors from the kit into it by using those stars. Since you could barely see the star on our tree, I used a gold acrylic sticker from the main kit as a substitute tree topper.

Finally, I adhered a badge along with of the exclusive word embellishments  to the quote card and thought it made for a nice conclusion.

That’s it! I hope you enjoyed my spread this week! Do you stick to traditional christmas colors around this time of year or are you venturing out into the pastel world?
