Hey everyone, its Raquel here today sharing my latest layout using the gorgeous November Christmas kits. For this layout I have documented a photo of my daughter after she had her face painted like Elsa at last years christmas concert for her playgroup. I stuck to a coral, mint, black and white colour palette and used mainly the Hip Kit exclusives with a mix of Snow and Cocoa in there by Crate Paper too.
I found some of the embellishments in the Snow and Cocoa ephemera pack or papers and fussy cut out any elements that would work with this colour palette – like the mittens. I think they look so adorable! I typed the journaling on my typewriter and cut it into strip form to add to the page.
The little house and bird from the Snow and Cocoa Paper was so adorable and was just calling to be fussy cut out and turned into embellishments. I layered and created this cluster using a variety of dimensional adhesives. I used normal double sided tape, some raised foam dots and also some foam tape. It brings a lot of depth and detail to that one small area. Even simply folding corners inwards can bring a dimension to your page that give it that something extra.
Behind the photo I added a doily from my stash and then a layer of the gorgeous mint coloured patterned paper by Crate Paper. To adhere the acetate title, I simply stapled it to the edge of the photo. This minimised any adhesive or liquid glue showing through and secured it well. I couldn’t resist adding that fussy cut penguin to the left of it too.
The quote below on one of the die cut cards was so cute and suited the theme and subject. It had a dark teal border so I removed that and matted it on woodgrain instead.
A vertical design in the form of a loose grid is one of my ‘go to’ layout styles when I am feeling a little bit of a scrappy rut. I think the busyness of christmas and this time of the year never seems to help with my mojo!
I hope you have found this post inspiring today. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas. I hope you have a beautiful day with you loved ones.
