Dream | September 2016 Kits by Raquel

Hey everyone, Raquel here today sharing my latest layout using the October kits. For this layout I decided to focus on the exclusive cut files and try and do something a little different.

I downloaded the exclusive wreath cut file from October designed by Kim Watson and cut the floral pieces off it. I wanted to create a floral feature and cluster on either side of my photo.

The photo I am documenting is one of myself taken this June before I taught Scrapbooking classes in Brisbane. I wanted to document what an amazing experience it was and how it was a big ‘scrapbooking’ achievement for me.

To help add some brightness to the clusters either side of the photo I added the Simple Stories Posh collection stickers. I love the navy and corals with the pops of yellow. Looking at the clusters you wouldn’t be able to tell that the floral die cuts have come from a wreath. I embellished on a diagonal to keep the page balanced. dream-4

My journaling was just typed on my typewriter and adhered to the bottom right corner. I added the journalling there as the area around the photo was very busy. dream-5

This page was super hard to photograph to share with you today due to the gold foiling. It is hard to do gold foiling products justice when sharing them online, but boy, these Simple Stories Posh chipboard pieces are gorgeous. dream-6

I added a sticker and arrow to the top of the page to serve as a directing tool, so your eyes lead to the photo. dream-7

The small Simple Stories clear stickers did not turn out very well on the main layout image but I love how they look on the page. The affirmations on them are super positive and a great way to record that moment. I also added the Pebbles Inc leave rub ons in gold to add further detail to the clusters.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I hope this page has inspire you to create with your October kits.
