Hi everyone! I’m really excited to be sharing a mini album I’ve been working on using the August Hipkits. Inspired by the Crate Paper Cute Girl line, I decided to create a mini book documenting the life of the cutest person in my household – our dog, Baxter! As Baxter joined our family before I began scrapbooking, I’ve never printed out any of the photographs we took of him as a puppy, which seemed like a real shame as he was so adorable back then! I thought it was time to remedy that and so I started creating an album – this album – all about him.
I chose a combination of different papers from the Main Kit using the Crate Paper Cute Girl Rainbows paper as a starting point. I cut all of the papers down to 4×5.5 inches and arranged them by colour so that I would have sections of blue, pink and yellow pages. I adhered some pages to each other, where I wanted the back design to be hidden, and punched a single hole mid way down the left side of each piece. Once I’d decided on the page order, I started to place the photographs i’d printed throughout, leaving blank spaces for words and embellishments.
I embellished my pages with Dear Lizzy Saturday Hello and Petal Thickers, Crate Paper Cool Kid Play Thickers and Crate Paper Cute Girl Adorable Puffy Stickers. I also used scraps of paper from August kits, black alphas from a previous Hipkit and a few other other embellishments from the Project Life, Main and Embellishment Kits.
Once I was fairly happy with how everything looked, I made a few final adjustments which included trimming a few of the pages and adding a few tags. This made the album a little more interesting to flick through and not quite so ‘perfect’ and neat. Finally I put all of the pages onto the ring which still has plenty of space on it so that I can add more photographs at a later date..
Thanks for stopping by!
