Fussy Cutting & Mixed Media | Missy Whidden

Hey, friends!  Missy back with you today, and I have a new layout to share using the gorgeous 2016 May Hip Kits.  I seriously cannot get enough of these amazing papers & embellishments!  This week we are featuring pages about our pets or furry friends, and these photos are of my daughter riding horses at her school.  I started with one of Kim Watson’s exclusive papers available in the Main Kit & Paper Kit.  I knew I wanted to use that colorful floral Illustrated Faith paper, so I fussy cut out a few flower clusters.  I only added a little bit of Shimmerz No Yoking Coloringz from last month’s Color Kit to my background because I felt the orange and pink areas gave this layout a “mixed media” feel to it without adding any extra.

I used the Jeni B Bleu & Spun Sugar Shimmerz and the exclusive stencil from the Color Kit to create these fun little clouds.  I smudged the Dazzlerz on with a palette knife over the stencil, I sprayed the ink right on top of the stencil, and I also flipped it over and stamped it.  I fussy cut all the clouds out and spaced them around my photo.  I also machine stitched through them.

I layered in a Bella Blvd chipboard piece under my left photo, and used some pink Shimmerz from my stash and a gelato to color this other Bella chipboard piece.  Those awesome words are in the Embellishment Kit.  I combined the Bella alpha stickers from the Project Life Kit to create my title.

I love these cute Simple Stories chipboard frames!  This one fit perfectly over my photo, and I used one of the exclusive die cuts on top of it.  Those puffy stickers are exclusives this month, and they are in the Embellishment Kit.
