Project Life 2016 | Marie-Pierre Capistran

Hi everyone!

Here’s a small 8×8 page insert I made for my PL album. I really love to work this size. It gives me lots of liberty and gets my creativity really flowing!! I also love to have a mix of pocket pages and small traditional pages. It makes the both of them shine even more.

I don’t often start a page with a dark patterned paper like this one but for this photo I found that it was working 100%! I did leave a small white border around my photo and layered it on some lighter paper to brighten up the page. Even though it’s a traditional page, I used the My Minds Eye PL Cards that came in the 2016 January PL kit to write my journaling. I find that it helps tie the traditional pages to the pocket pages.

I played with the rub-ons and the words found on my patterned papers to create this “happy together”. And I used bakers twine (from my stash) that would fit the rub-on and the gold glitter.

I like to layer my picture on a couple of papers and tear off some little bits. I try not to forget to add the date. I usually stamp it close to my picture with my roller date stamp.

Here’s a better look at the tags. The red one was part of the tags pack by Crate Paper found in the January 2016 Embellishments kit and I made the black one out of the granite cardstock found in the January 2016 cardstock kit. I added a couple of little golden hearts and this beautiful butterfly. I really love being able to pick cute elements out of the stickers sheets of the Embellishment kit and the PL kit. This page is very simple and was a lot of fun to make.
