Get Cozy | Missy Whidden

Hey there, friends!  Missy here, and I’m so excited to continue on the Hip Kit Design Team for another term!  I have moved to every other Thursday here on the blog.  This is my second layout featuring the gorgeous 2015 October Hip Kits.  This layout began very differently than the final product, and I show how it changed in my process video down below.  I began using the leafy stencil from the Color Kit with some modeling paste on one of the Pink Paislee patterned papers.  I went over that with the Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink from the May Color Kit.  I wound up letting it dry and punching circles out of it.  I used those circles as a design element on my page.  My original plan was to use just different shades of the blues and mints, but some of the coral found its way onto the layout, too 🙂

Here you can see the texture created from the paste and the stencil.  I used some of the beautiful blue glitter Thickers from the Embellishment Kit for my title, and I heat embossed the Simple Stories wood veneer with gold powder.  I also punched the coral circles out of the Jen Hadfield patterned paper and used gold thread to stitch through them.

Here’s one of the bigger circles.  I added some of the Jen Hadfield washi tape and stickers and one of those gorgeous Pink Paislee Cedar Lane arrows from the Embellishment Kit.  They are SO pretty!

I did more heat embossing on this heart wood veneer piece and layered it under my photo.  I used one of the Project Life cards here and layered a few of the Printables as well.  Those are a FREE download if you’re a registered Hip Kit Member!

I used more washi tape here…I love the mint with the gold lettering!  I love these colors together, too.  The coral really pops against the blues and greens.

Here’s one more close-up of the left side.  I did lots of gold stitching and used some of the gold Pink Paislee Memorandum stickers as well as a few of the Cedar Lane clear teal sentiment stickers.

Here’s my process video if you’d like to see how this layout came together.  I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a great day!
