Happy Tuesday, friends! Missy here again. I have been having a ball with these 2015 July Hip Kits! I am seriously in love with these patterns and colors. I decided to start with a busy background this time, and I pulled out that gorgeous floral paper from October Afternoon. I was drawn to the reds, blues and yellows. I layered in a big strip of the Crate Paper Journey paper (the red) and some of the Poolside and Fancy Pants paper. I added a lot of white gesso over all of that to tone down the busy flowers. Next, I used a lot of mixed media products…the new Abandoned Coral Distress Paint mixed with the Avery Elle Raspberry ink, the Lemon Zest Dylusions mixed with the Avery Elle Daisy ink, and some gelatos from my stash. I also used the gorgeous new Citron Distress Ink mixed with some teal ink spray. I wanted all those fun colors represented in my watercolor background.
You can see it more closely here. I added in a lot of embellishments as well. This fun Heidi Swapp stamp is included in the Color Kit. I stamped it in black ink and then again with embossing ink. I used the clear embossing powder from the June Color Kit and then used gelatos to color it. It’s so shiny and pretty! I also used some of the Lemon Zest Dylusions to color that Elle’s Studio wood veneer.
I did a bit of circle punching for my area down at the bottom of the page and layered in some of the October Afternoon puffy stickers and a flair button. I also added in some tangled thread for another pop of yellow and some texture.
I love these Simple Stories chipboard frames! This one worked perfectly over my top photo. I layered in a few die cuts from Elle’s Studio and added in some of those cute OA puffy stickers.
I used a few Project Life cards as layering pieces under my photos. I also machine stitched…in several places. I love the detail that it adds.
Here’s one more look at the title area. I mixed some of the OA alphas with the black Thickers and then finished that area off using the OA roller stamp. It’s so cute!
