So Lovely at 1 | Patricia Roebuck

I had to use the Color Kit with modeling paste using the bubblegum mist from the kit.  My idea was to then cut the modeling paste page after and do a type of grid.  I cut them to about 1.5.”  It did not come out as I had it in my head, but I had fun, I love the colors with the photo, and it is okay to not have every page be 100% your favorite.

I started by applying gesso to the french doors pattern paper, and then ended up cutting those into strips along the 12×12 kraft cardstock.  Some of the modeling paste images, I fussy cut, and tucked under the long french doors pattern paper.  I layered the squares, with more pattern paper and the vellum from the kits…I tucked in just a tiny bit of the woodgrain pattern paper from the February kit to add some warm colors.  I do love the kraft background with this to also add some warmth to the page along with the wood veneer.  Most everything is attached with the sewing machine.

I complimented the bubblegum pink with black and a tiny bit of the aqua/mint green to form a triangle.  I created my title from the Crate Paper chipboard from the Embellishment kit.

I outlined the layout with a thin line of black paint to go along with the artsy feel of the layout.  I added my journaling onto the same vellum sheet at the bottom.  Layouts like this that I am unsure of I do a check:  1) is it a good design 2) good balance of color and embellishments  3)  is the story being told  And if I feel like I can answer all of these questions, then I let it go.  Part of this hobby is having fun and sometimes stepping outside of our creative bubble.
