You Are Learning 2 Fly | Patricia Roebuck

I wanted to play with the February Color Kit a little more.  So starting with the mint green cardstock paper, I wrote out ‘xoxo,’ and love’ onto it with the pink paint dabber.  Went over with heat gun to dry, then randomly masked and misted with the stencil and the blue mist from the kit.  Then using a mist from my stash and the pink and blue mist from the kit, I splattered large drops across it spraying into the cap of the container and dropping it.  I let this dry over night, and then die cut feathers from it.

I stitched a zig zag down the middle of each feather, then layered them on top of each other and stitched them at the base.  I liked the dramatic angle they formed, so I trimmed pattern paper at an angle to adhere to my background.  Pencil lined where my journaling would go, typed it out, then started adhering everything to the page.

I wanted to use a mix of the alphas from the kits, and substituted the word ‘to’ with a chipboard piece from Crate Paper in the February Embellishment Kit, and substituted the ‘o’ from you with a rubon from the main kit.  To add to the mix of fonts, I used the Silhouette to cut out ‘fly.’

Keeping with he angle at the bottom, I trimmed pattern paper to adhere at the top for a mat for my photo.  Finished the layout off with some black paint splatters.
