MONDAY WITH IRIT…

Hi There! Irit here with another layout to start your week! For today’s layout I used lots of Maggie Holmes die cuts, but a little differently than usual.   Crate Paper always has huge die cuts packages, and I have challenged myself to use it up.   With the October kits.   Insane??   Can’t be done??   There are over 80 pieces in that ephemera package you say!?!   Maybe. I’m crazy that way.   So in this pile of die cuts, there were some that I thought would be a little harder for me to use, and I mean those dainty quite old fashioned flowers. When in doubt- use gesso. I used some good liquid adhesive to adhere the die cuts to my page. Because I knew I was going to add gesso and gelatos, I didn’t want them to curl once wet. I also used some of the more random pieces, like the squirrel. This is a great way to use those die cuts you’re not sure about. When used like this you get texture and interest, and it doesn’t really matter what the actual shape it. I used gesso and gelatos, and after I was done, I couldn’t help myself, and added some stars using the MFT stencil and texture paste that came with the color kit add on. I love this look and I’m using it on all my pages lately… Then I decided I wanted to customize the cork pieces. I love the texture of cork, not too crazy about the color. So I used the Guava gelato to change the color, and sealed it with some glossy accents glue. Love how that looks! Last finishing touch was those metal hearts. I had some left from the September kit, but I didn’t like the silver for this page. Love Distress paints, they color anything! So I used some Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet to paint those metal hearts.   You can see all the stages in the process video.   Hope you like my layout and I’ll see you next Monday!
