Hey Hipsters! Mandy sharing a layout inspired by the October Afternoon products featured in our June Hip Kits. As some of you know I am a design team member for October Afternoon but long before I was asked to join their team I was a huge fan of their products especially their timeless paper designs and embellishments. This month’s Hip Kits have a few of my favorite OA products, like the grey star washi tape & the chipboard arrows. When I started creating for this week’s blog post I had an idea of what I wanted the subject to be, and everything really started to fall into place when my thumb hit the OA clock paper. I added the 3 OA arrows because the layout is about life and it’s constant change which means round and round we go, so the arrows lead your eye around the page in a sense too. I love the large Echo Park Alpha from our June Embellishment Add-On Kit! They are awesome for those extra large titles that I love.
Here lies that extra large title and my typed out journaling on a tag. I added the October Afternoon Pop Drop hearts to cover the tag hole and because these hearts are too cute!
Love those arrows so here’s a close up for y’all. I layered this arrow on top of a tag that I created using the roller stamp from our May Stamp Add-On Kit and the Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink from this month’s Stamp Kit. Love that yellow! If you don’t have it already, it’s a great color to add to your collection!
This card was simply inspired by time. Yes, I said time, like me running against the the clock & out of time. I needed to create something fast, something easy, and something that would actually be inspiring! I think I achieved this. At least I hope it inspires you all, because it made me smile when I stepped away & came back again. “You Make Me Smile” was created in like 5 minutes. For real, with a little bit of paper, washi tap, a tag, a wood veneer shape and an enamel dot star, and that’s it! Thanks for joining me today! ~xo MK
