Weekend is here and I am so excited to share these two projects by Mel Blackburn with you. Mel created both this layout and card using our fabulous August 2013 Hip Kit & Add-On Kits. I love all of the goodies in this collection. 😀 Our main kit includes two sets of stickers that are perfect for embellishing all kinds of projects. The Mayberry Punch Stickers have two sheets of stickers that include icons, descriptive words and sentiments along with other decorative shapes. We also included the Echo Park Here & Now Label & Alphabet Stickers – which have a bit more black but the contrast coordinates perfectly with the Mayberry stickers.Melanie combined both sets of stickers on her layout and her card. She added pop dots to several of the stickers to give them some extra dimension. Her choice of stickers on her layout create a very natural flow guiding the eye toward the photo. I love this page!Her card is very straight forward, but all of the elements work well together. I love how she used the branding strip at the bottom of the patterned vellum as part of the sentiment for her card. The red & white and black & white chevrons give just the right amount of color and contrast. The Echo Park label sticker completes her sentiment, and some machine stitching and mist splatters give her card a nice finished look.I hope Mel’s projects have inspired you to pull out your August kit this weekend and create something wonderful.
