I hope you are all looking forward to a great weekend. :D The sun should be shining here – and I am looking forward to spending lots of time outside. Today I have a few awesome projects created by Cindy Stevens with our April/May 2013 Hip Kit. This month we started offering a Color Add-On Kit – which included some mists, masks and some embossing power. If you didn’t get a chance to order one – we still have a few available & we can include it in your next Hip Kit shipment.
Cindy’s first layout is about shining a blue light at “Light At Night” to raise Autism awareness. Lots of worldwide landmarks do this on April 2nd and Cindy and her husband joined in by shining a blue light at her house in support of their little guy. :) As soon as she saw all the blue in our April/May Hip Kit – she was totally inspired to create this page. 🙂Cindy used the Studio Calico Mister Huey Triangle Mask and Zing! embossing power from our April/May Color Add-On Kit along with some VersaMark ink to create the triangle pattern on the white cardstock background.
Here is how you do it… Just put your mask down onto your background paper, and you can secure it in place with some washi tape. Then you apply your embossing ink to you paper by by pressing your ink pad on top of the mask. Next, you remove the mask and sprinkle your Zing! embossing powder over the inked areas. Then you can put the excess powder back into its container. Finally, you use your heat gun to melt the embossing powder and voila, you have a great patterned background with a little extra texture and some shine. It is super easy, and only takes a couple of minutes. If you haven’t tried this before, should definitely give it a whirl!!!
How cute is this card!?! Enamel dots are so popular right now, and I love the texture and dimension that they give to Cindy’s card. The yellow washi tape adds a nice pop of color. The sentiment was created using the Pebbles Mini Alphabet Stickers from our April/May Embellishment Add-On Kit. You get two different colors in one package – and they are perfect for cards and to add captions and little details to your scrapbook pages or Project Life layouts.
I hope you are feeling inspired to pull your April/May Hip Kit out this weekend and create something awesome with it. We would love to see your creations – so feel free to share your work with us on our Facebook page. Tomorrow, I will have another collection of amazing projects created with our April/May kit – so make sure to check back. Have a scrappy day! xo – Kimberly –
