Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.
Hello my crafty friends! Today I am so excited to share a gorgeous scrapbook layout from one of our incredibly talented design team members, Anke Kramer. Anke created this beauty as part of our International Scrapbooking Day Challenge #1: Let’s Use Circles, and the brief was simple – work circles into your project however you like. She reached for the stunning March 2026 Stitchable Mandala Metal Die to create the most beautiful circular focal points across her page, and I just know you are going to fall in love with her technique.
What I love most about this layout is how Anke layered fussy cut florals and butterflies from the Find Your Bliss and Excellent Day papers in the March 2026 Main Kit right on top of those mandala circles. The result is so dimensional and full of life. She also added the sweetest hand-stitched details in matching thread colors, plus puffy stickers and glitter foam alphabet stickers from the March 2026 Embellishment Kit to really make everything pop. Grab your supplies and let us walk through exactly how she put this stunner together!
Step-by-Step Mandala Circle Layout Tutorial
Step 1: Die Cut Mandala Circles in Multiple Colors
▶ Watch
Start by pulling out the March 2026 Stitchable Mandala Metal Die. Run the die through your machine using several coordinating colors of cardstock from the March 2026 Cardstock Kit so you have a beautiful variety to choose from. Anke used a soft mix of pinks, lilacs, aquas, yellows, and white that complement the patterned papers perfectly.
Step 2: Stitch the Mandala Circles with Coordinating Thread
▶ Watch
Once your mandalas are die cut, grab embroidery thread in colors that match each circle and add some hand stitching to give them texture and a handmade feel. The Stitchable Mandala has built-in pierce holes that make this so easy. This little detail adds so much warmth and dimension to the finished look. Take your time and let the stitches follow the natural openings in the mandala design.
Step 3: Fussy Cut Flowers and Leaves from Patterned Papers
▶ Watch
Pull out the Find Your Bliss and Excellent Day papers from the March 2026 Main Kit and start fussy cutting all the gorgeous florals and leaves. A sharp pair of scissors makes this so much easier and gives you cleaner edges around the petals. Cut a generous variety so you have plenty of options when it comes time to layer.
Step 4: Fussy Cut Butterflies and a Bow Accent
▶ Watch
Grab one of the 6 by 8 Pocket Life papers and carefully fussy cut butterflies and a sweet bow to use as additional accents. These smaller elements are perfect for filling in the gaps between your larger blooms. Anke loves using these Pocket Life papers as a hidden source of embellishments.
Step 5: Arrange Mandalas and Layer Fussy Cut Florals
▶ Watch
Position your stitched mandala circles across the page in a 3 by 3 grid. Then layer the fussy cut flowers, butterflies, and bow on top of each circle, matching colors thoughtfully so each mandala has its own little garden moment. Add a couple of fussy cut photos and some die cuts from the Embellishment Kit to anchor the design.
Step 6: Add Puffy Stickers Throughout the Layout
▶ Watch
Continue building up the page with puffy stickers from the March 2026 Embellishment Kit tucked in around your florals and circles. The dimension from the puffy stickers really makes the layout come alive and gives your eye fun little places to land. Cluster them near your focal points for the most impact.
Step 7: Pierce and Stitch Delicate Butterfly Trails
▶ Watch
Using a piercing tool, create small evenly spaced holes that follow a curved path behind each butterfly. Then stitch along those holes with thread to create whimsical flight trails that connect your butterflies to the rest of the page. This is such a sweet detail that adds movement to the whole design.
Step 8: Finish with Glitter Foam Alphabet and Final Butterfly
▶ Watch
Spell out your title using the glitter foam mini alphabet stickers from the Embellishment Kit for a touch of sparkle that catches the light beautifully. Then place one final puffy butterfly sticker as your finishing touch and stitch its little trail to tie everything together. Step back and admire your gorgeous circle-inspired layout!
