Hello Hip Kit Club friends! Happy New Year to everyone! I hope everyone had a great Christmas with their families! The holidays are over, but to be honest, this is my favorite time to make new Christmas cards and create winter layouts when it’s snowing outside. Today I am so happy to share a set of new cards I made using the December Hip Kit and a set of Colorblock Triangle Tree Die Set.

To create these cards, I started with a background that was devided into two parts. Then, I cut the trees from white cardstock twice (0ne set for each card) and cut them again from three different colors of solids. It’s always a good idea to create a few cards at a time, since you will have extra pieces for color blocking. Since I planned to I add these trees to the card with pop dots, I adhered each white outline tree part to white cardstock, added all of the colorful pieces and then used the scissors to fussy cut around.
Since I already had these tree outlines cut from colored cardstock, I decided to add more dimension to cards and add a few of those to the background. I really like how they echoed the main focal point on these cards. For the sentiments I used foam stickers and die cuts, but also I fussy cut circles from the “Happy Holidays” patterned paper. Each card was finished with little decorations from this kit.
I hope you were inspired by today’s set of cards and will believe me when I say – this color blocking technique is so relaxing and so much fun, especially when it’s snowing outside!
