Let’s Use Cut File TO Make a Mini Book

Hello scrapbooking friends! Anys is here today and I am so happy to share a mini book I created using the awesome September Hip Kit! I loved that this kit had some school theme elements in it and for me, as a mother of four students, it was a moment to use it to record some school memories for my children.

Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

Every month HKC releases so many awesome cut files. The possibilities with those are endless, but as soon as I saw the backpack cut file, I knew I will be making a mini book with it. It was a perfect shape to fit many different photo sizes. To create the cover, I cut the outline of the album three times, one in each color: white, orange and turqoise. Then I used the pieces from colored cardstock to fill the negative spaces of white outline. This colorblocking technique is very satisfying to do. Stitching was a great finishing touch to this project.

Here’s a look inside at one of the page spreads. I used a couple of PL cards for layering and a photo flip. For a better coordination, I fussy cut a few apples from the background paper on the right side and used them to decorate the left side. Since most of the bulk happens in the mid section, I try to level pages by adding some dimensional elements to the top, like the letter “A” at the top left.

Thank you so much for visiting HKC blog and I hope you will stop by again soon for mor inspiration! XOXO
