Let’s Make a Mini Album – Anya Lunchenko

Hello everyone! Every time I receive the HKC box I go through supplies and create dozens of projects in my head, But time flies by too fast and I don’t always get a chance to play with every item in the kit. September kit is full of all kinds of fun elements and what is the better way to use it all then a mini book! Today I am happy to share another mini album I created using September Hip Kit, with a little help by sewing machine and the Cinch machine.

To create this mini book, I started with three pieces of chipboard I wanted to use for the cover of the album, two of them measuring 5×7″ and the third one 1×7″. Both of the 5×7″ piece I covered with patterned paper, and adhered the 1×7″ piece to a 2.5×9″ piece of faux leather, which was then adhered to the cover pieces with double sided tape. To secure leather, I stitched it down, and finished by adding white cardstock inside of the cover.

Now I was ready to play with all the fun patterns in this kit. I picked six patterned papers from the main kit and four pieces of paper from the cardstock kit. I like to add some solid or tone-on-tone papers in between all the patterns for a good balance and color distribution. Using a paper trimmer, I cut all of these papers to 1/8 shorter then 7″. Next, I scored all of them and closed some papers with glue, while leaving other open with a flap.

Using the Cinch machine, I binded all the pages together in the order I’d like to see them. The whole “notebook” was glued to the back side of the inside cover. A similar process was repeated for the left side of the notebook, but this time my pages open up, and I used the leftover pieces that were trimmed off from those ten pieces of paper I picked in the beginning.

Now, you may decorate pages using die cuts, Project Life cards, stamps, puffy stickers, chipboard pieces and more. I like to leave some pages blank, in case I need a space for a larger photo.

To decorate the cover I like to use a lot of chipbord pieces. First, I created a base by adding a layer of PL cards and a chipboard frame and then I added a lot of other chipboard pieces with a perfect large title in the center.
