LET’S CREATE A COLOURFUL SCRAPBOOK PAGE | Morag Cutts

Hi there.  I love the mixed media elements from the January 2024 kits.  They are a perfect way to help me document a recent photo from a scrapbook weekend.

I was inspired by the Possibilities paper which looks like paint swatch strips and the Color Freak die-cut from the main kit.  I opted for a vertical strip design – initially I was going to use lots of patterned papers, but liked how the paint swatches were lighter in each column.

I added the fantastic faux stitching stickers to a few of the strips – so much easier than dragging out your sewing machine.

To add some interest to the background, I used the Mixed Media stamps from the Color Kit.  They are a fantastic way to add that mixed media look with total control. I spritzed the stamp after inking with yellow, then stamped onto the background.  The result is a soft, painterly ‘splodge’

I also stamped Yes many times over the area – I love the way that it packs a punch.  The paint spots from the stamps are brilliant for a further accent without the mess.

You can see I added more yellow paint drops before clustering the die cuts and puffy stickers.  I adore the chipboard frames – perfect for me to pull the twine from the tag and drape it across.

The flowers from the Embellishment  kit are so colourful.  They match the papers and embellishments perfectly.
