LET’S CREATE WITH A SKETCH | FEBRUARY SKETCH CHALLENGE | Morag Cutts

It’s time for a new sketch challenge for a chance to win $25 to spend in store.

This week, I am thrilled to be using the wonderful January 2024 kits to create.  I love the mix of bright colours and cool elements.

This fun, family photo deserves a vibrant, happy layout to match.  The bright colours and elements in January’s kit are perfect.

The beautiful nested arch dies are fabulous for framing photos or providing interesting journaling spots.  Rather that split up the dies into individual pieces, I opted to run the dies through my machine with different coloured cardstock. I was able to create slim frames which could be nested together.

After gluing them onto cardstock, I cut off the bottom of the frames to make a very cool, modern rainbow. You can have so much fun changing the size and length of the rainbow.

To frame the photo, I opted for the Embroidery Hoop die, which has 2 sized hoops as well as florals and foliage dies.

I offset the white background onto 2 patterned papers, set at a jaunty angle.  The title I placed at the top right, firstly adding the vibrant mixed media sticker.  They are perfect to add that wow factor without the mess!  The title stickers are from the January Main Kit.

To balance things out, I layered die-cuts and stickers between the paper layers.  To create another easy mixed media layer, I used the wonderful Mixed Media stamps from January’s Color kit.
