Happy new year! It’s the first sketch challenge for 2024 and I’m kicking things off with a sparkly winter scrapbook page. The December kits are a perfect way to document your winter adventures and celebrations.
The sketch has a mixed media background which I kept to the top of my layout. I chose a cool, wintery color scheme to document a trip we took before Christmas.

I laid various tones of diluted blue ink onto the background with a mini brayer (you can use the packaging technique also). I then added a few well-placed splatters over in a darker blue to match the papers.
To enhance the wintery theme, I used the fabulous Cozy Adventures star stamp from the December Color kit. I heat embossed the stars using versa-ink and the white embossing powder from the Color Kit.
To add extra sparkle, I used a small paintbrush to add glue before sprinkling glitter over the top. It took a little time for the glue to dry thoroughly.
The Snowflake Tree die creates such pretty trees.
To create the pretty foliage clusters, I die-cut leaves in 3 different cardstock colors using the Spruce and Holly die set. I love these dies because you can layer the pieces and stretch your supplies so easily.
I tucked in chipboard elements and cute puffy stars (December Embellishment kit).
The gorgeous holographic elements shimmer and shine as you tilt the layout – so pretty!
I added an extra cluster to the bottom of the page layering more die-cut leaves and chipboard pieces.
