LET’S CREATE WITH VELLUM | Morag Cutts

Hi friend.  There are so many lovely exclusive designs in each kit every month. I adore the different textures from die-cuts, chipboard, puffy stickers and this month there is vellum!

I love the way you can see through the vellum journal pieces, by layering them, you can see the pieces underneath giving it a very cool look.

With this in mind, I created a watercolour background with Shimmerz from past Color kits.  They are a great way to build up a beautiful collection.  I diluted the Shimmerz before painting it on with a wide flat brush.  To soften the edges, I also used a round brush for extra splodges.

I arranged the vellum pieces to make a border, overlapping them.  To glue them down, I used Nuvo Luxury adhesive which dries clear.  I found that you couldn’t see the glue marks once dry.

To add more texture, I selected chipboard pieces from the Main kit arranging the numbers vertically, offsetting them.  The repeating elements help to draw the eye to the border.

The flower cluster has one of the little tassels tucked underneath – so tactile!

I interspersed  the lovely layered star stickers with puffy and epoxy stickers. Did you see the stitched detail on the layered stickers? How cool!

It’s so great creating with all the different textures in the kits.  I hope I have inspired you to combine them on a page.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
