Hi everyone, Anke here with a new mixed media layout inspiration featuring the May 2023 Hip Kits. I created a layout with a mixed media background and stamped flowers using a stencil from the May Color Kit and the May 2023 Wild Flower Layered Clear Stamp.
First I stamped the flowers on white cardstock using a black ink pad. I also used ink pads to color the flowers. I applied ink on an acrylic block and then I used a paint brush to color the leaves and blossom of the flowers. I started with a lighter shade of color for the first layer and then added a second layer with a darker shade of each color. Then I used a black pen to draw some lines and circles in the center of each blossom. I wanted them to look like the blossoms on the “Wild Flowers – Stroll in the Meadow” paper. Finally I cut the flowers out using my scissors.
Then I created the background of my layout. I applied a layer of modeling paste using one of the stencils, which are included in the May Color Kit. When the paste was dry I added three die cuts which I made using the “May 2023 Crochet Texture Metal Die” and the “Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Essential Solids – Lime Cardstock” , which is included in the May Cardstock Kit.
I layered my photo with a die cut from the “Wild Flowers Cardstock Phrase & Floral Die Cuts” pack, which you can find in the May Embellishment Kit and added some flowers, which I fussy cut from the “Wild Flowers – Stroll in the Meadow” paper. Then I backed one of the stickers from the “Wild Flowers Chipboard Stickers” pack, a film strip, with vellum and tucked it behind my photo. The chipboard stickers are also included in the May Embellishment Kit.
Then I arranged the stamped flowers around my photo and added more of the fussy cut flowers.
I placed another stamped flower on the third “Crochet Texture” die cut and added two butterflies and a word sticker from the “Wild Flowers Dimensional Layered Stickers” pack, which you can find in the May Embellishment Kit.
I continued embellishing the layout with some of the “Wild Flowers Wood Veneer Floral Stickers”, which you can also find in the May Embellishment Kit. Then I picked out some of the “Wild Flowers Puffy Accent Stickers”, which are included in the May Main Kit and two more chipboard stickers.
My title is a word die cut from the “Wild Flowers Cardstock Ephemera” pack, which is also included in the May Main Kit.
I pierced holes and stitched the butterfly trails.
Finally I added some Nuvo Drops from my stash, some of the “Wild Flowers Epoxy Stickers”, which are included in the May Embellishment Kit and two floral die cuts.
This is my finished layout. I hope you like it and feel inspired to add some mixed media accents to your next project .
