Hello! It’s Sarah Millerhouse here, and I am excited to share my layout featuring two beautiful cutfiles and the March 2023 Hip Kits! Be sure to read to the end to find the link to the full process video!
I started with the February exclusive cutfile titled “Rose Circle” and the March exclusive cutfile titled “Butterfly Wreath”. They are both intricate and absolutely gorgeous! I cut the outer cutfile at 10 inches and sized the other cutfile down to fit in the center. I created the backing pieces in Cricut Design using the Contour tool. When I glued the butterfly wreath down, I made sure to only add adhesive to the centers of the butterflies so that I could bend up the wings for added texture.
On the background, I used two beautiful blue Shimmerz Paints products from past Hip Kit Color Kits. I started with the Creameez – Ride the Tide, and I splattered in Inklingz – Blue My Mind. After all the color was added, I picked up the bulk of the color with paper towels so that there was just a light wash on the background.
I added my sweet photo from Easter this year in the bottom right corner, and I backed it with two patterned papers from the Main Kit. Around the photo, I added tons of flowers that I fussy cut from patterned paper and stickers from the Simple Stories Sticker Book (that I stuck down to white cardstock and cut out so that I could move them around and bend up the edges). I also added chipboard frames from the Pinkfresh Studio Chipboard Frames sheet. I used these to frame two journaling cards that I used to add my journaling and the title – Happy!
I added a small cluster in the top left using stickers, ephemera, chipboard pieces, adhesive brads and phrase stickers. I also added hand-stitching to each of the butterflies on the cutfile and added Nuvo Drops from a past HKC Color Kit and my stash to added color and dimension to the centers of the flowers. I loved every minute of creating the layout!
