LET’S CREATE WITH PATTERNED PAPER | SARAH MILLERHOUSE | MARCH 2023 HIP KITS

Hi, Hip Kit Friends! I’m excited to share my new layout featuring all the beautiful March patterned papers and a scraplift of my own layout! I have never scraplifted myself before, and that was a fun challenge! I enjoyed working with all the exclusives, combined with Simple Stories and Pink Fresh, in the March Hip Kits. I have all the details in a full process video linked below. Have a beautiful and creative day!

For this layout, I focused on using all of the beautiful patterned papers in the March Main Kit and Cardstock Kit. For my original layout, I had created rays of color in rainbow order, and I mimicked the look on my new layout. I cut three triangular pieces of each color, distressed the edges, and layered them up.

Before I glued them down, I traced where they would go and added splashes of color behind each color section using mediums from the Hip Kit Color Kits. I used the beautiful inks from the last two Color Kits, along with lots of Shimmerz Paints goodness from past kits.

I added splatters of white acrylic paint (mixed with a little water to thin it out a bit) around the area I knew my photo would go. I added several layers of patterned paper to mat my photo, just as I had done in my original layout. I used a beautiful Hip Kit stencil (Chasing Dreams) with the inks from the March and February Color Kits to the left of my photo.

I then fussy cut flowers from three different patterned papers in the March Main Kit to embellish around the photo. I love the layering and color variation this adds. I also used one of the Four Fronds Metal Dies from the March release to add in some sprigs of leaves cut from patterned paper. I used a few of the stickers from the Simple Stories sticker book to layer in the floral clusters and create my title. I finished the layout with Nuvo Drops from the November Color Kit and some Pops of Color from my stash.
