Join the Fun – Sketch Challenge

Hello Hip Kit friends !

 

It’s Sophie on the blog today ! I am so excited to share my first layout created with the March Hip Kits !!

 

It is based on the brand new sketch challenge that is on starting today !

And here is the beautiful sketch designed by the talented Jana Eubank:

 

 

I was inspired by the two horizontal lines on the top and bottom parts of the sketch. I teared a few pieces of patterned papers (March 2023 paper kit) and placed them there, just like the sketch. 

 

 As you see, I only used one big photo instead of three. I also scored a few horizontal lines directly on my thick white cardstock background (on the reverse side of the layout) under my photo, on which I applied dry ink (Catherine Pooler – Pixie Dust Candles – Mini Dye Ink Pad from the March Color kit). It’s a beautiful and soft addition to the page and the perfect spot to write down my journaling. 

 

 

I also was inspired by the little circles on the sketch and it gave me the idea to place a few butterflies flying around on the layout, next to my photo. I added a few machine stitches to highlight their path. 

 

The title comes from the Simple Stories – Simple Vintage Life In Bloom – 12×12 Cardstock Sticker Sheet (Main kit). I also added a delicate bow (March 2023 Leafy Wreath + Bow Metal Die) under it. 

 

 

Finally, I embellished the page with elements from the Main, Pocket Life and Embellishment kits.
