Hello Hip Kit friends, Anke here with a new mixed media layout inspiration for Hip Kit Club featuring the February 2023 Hip Kits. I used the Catherine Pooler Mini Dye Ink  Pads and the stencil from the February Color Kit to add mixed media accents to my layout and I also used the February 2023 Nested Hearts Metal Dies.

 

 

First I cut three strips from white cardstock. Then I took the ink pads and swiped over the paper strips to color them. Then I applied a layer of modeling paste using the stencil, which is also included in the February Color Kit.

 

 

I wanted a heart shaped photo for this layout, so I used the February Nested Hearts Metal Dies  to cut and frame my photo. Then I cut lots of hearts in different sizes from white cardstock. I love to have a lot of texture and dimension on my pages so I added some hand stitched elements to some of the hearts. Therefore I used threads that match the colors of the three ink pads.

 

 

Then I cut hearts from the Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Essential Solids Petal-, Lilac- and Blush papers which are included in the February Cardstock Kit.

 

 

I layered the hearts and added some machine stitching.

 

 

I pierced holes in each of the mixed media paper strips, set eyelets and added some twine. And as you can see I added small paper hearts before I set the eyelets, because I love cute little details. Then I glued the paper strips on my layout,  added my photo and arranged the paper hearts .

 

 

My title is a combination of the “Always & Forever – Puffy Alphabet Stickers”, a die cut from the “Always & Forever – Cardstock Ephemera” pack and a vellum die cut, all included in the February Main Kit. I backed the vellum die cut with white cardstock. Otherwise it wouldn’t be visible on the mixed media background.

 

 

I added a vellum butterfly and a vellum word die cut which I also backed with white cardstock. The butterfly is from the “Always & Forever – Butterfly & Mandala Vellum Die Cuts” pack, which you can find in the February Embellishment Kit. The word die cut is from the “Always & Forever – Vellum Die Cuts” pack which is included in the February Main Kit.

 

 

Then I chose some of the “Chipboard Floral Stickers” which are included in the February Embellishment Kit and added them to my page together with some fussy cut flowers. And I decorated each of the stitched hearts with one of the “Puffy Heart Stickers”, which you can also find in the February Embellishment Kit.

 

 

I cut off a word strip from the “Cut Apart Mini Word & Phrases” strips, which are included in the February Pocket Life Kit, backed it with white cardstock and glued it on the orange mixed media paper strip.

 

 

Finally I added another fussy cut flower and more Puffy Heart Stickers.

 

This is my finished layout. I hope you like it and feel inspired to add some mixed media accents to your next project.
