LET’S TRY SOMETHING NEW – STITCHED BACKGROUND – ANKE KRAMER – DECEMBER 2022 HIP KITS

Hi everyone, Anke here sharing a new layout inspiration.  On Sundays we focus on techniques and I decided to create a layout with stitched background, using the December 2022 Hip Kits and some of our exclusive metal dies.

First I prepared my cardstock for the stitching. I cut a frame, one inch wide and placed it on my page to make sure that there’s the same space between stitching and the edge of the paper on each side. Then I  drew lines ,  pierced holes and  started stitching.

When  the background was finished I used the “Knitted Texture” metal die to cut out two pieces from the light blue cardstock, which is included in the December Cardstock Kit.  I glued my photo on these papers and placed it on the stitched background.

I picked out some floral die cuts from the “Winter Floral Die Cuts” pack, which is included in the December Embellishment Kit, and added them to my layout.

Then I chose some of the “Faux Wood Chipboard Stickers” for my title and I also added three snowflakes.

Then I cut some snowflakes from white cardstock using the “Layered Snowflakes”metal dies and added them to my page.

I also added some puffy stickers, which are included in the December Pocket Life Kit , some of the “Chipboard Mini Phrase Stickers”, which you can find in the December Main Kit and a chipboard bird from the chipboard stickers pack which is included in the December Embellishment Kit.

Finally I added Nuvo Drops to the center of each snowflake and blue sequins. The sequins are also included in the December Embellishment Kit.

This is my finished layout. I hope you like it and feel inspired to get out your kits and create a beautiful project.

You can find the process video on the Hip Kit Club YouTube channel.

  1. I really like how you layered the embellishments and the stitching is such a fun touch!

  2. Yet another technique that I would like to try. Your blog is great. I’m glad I discovered it.
