LET’S GET MESSY WITH MIXED MEDIA – ANKE KRAMER – NOVEMBER 2022 HIP KITS

Hello Hip Kit friends, Anke here with a new mixed media layout inspiration for Hip Kit Club. I created a Christmas layout using the beautiful papers and embellishments, which are included in the November Hip Kits and I added some mixed media accents using the “Music Texture” clear stamp and a stencil, which is included in the November Color Kit.

I started with cutting strips from the Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Ho Ho Ho – Under The Tree and Time To Celebrate papers. Then I glued each of the blue paper strips on a pink one  and run them through my sewing machine. Then I layered my photos with pieces of a Pocket Life card.

Before I continued with my layout I created the mixed media background. Therefore I cut a piece of cardstock to the size of the paper strips in the center of my page, placed it on the layout and then stamped , using the “Music Texture” clear stamp and a black ink pad.

Then I added a layer of modeling paste using one of the stencils which are included in the November Color Kit. When the background was dry I arranged the paper strips and added the photos. I started embellishing my layout with two of the “Chipboard Window Ornaments”, which are included in the November Embellishment Kit.

Then I picked out some of the “Floral Ephemera”, which you can also find in the November Embellishment Kit.

Then I added the title , a die cut  from the “Ho Ho Ho Ephemera”  pack, which is included in the November Main Kit.

I stitched the threads on which the ornaments are hanging  and added two puffy bows, one from the “Puffy Phrase Stickers” pack, which is included in the November Embellishment Kit and one from the “Puffy Shape Stickers” pack, which you can find in the November Pocket Life Kit.

I also added some of the “Scandinavian Star Cardstock Stickers” from the November Embellishment Kit. I didn’t  glue them directly on my layout. I wanted to use them like die cuts and so I glued them on white cardstock and cut them out. That made them more sturdy so I could adhere them with foam pads to add dimension.

I finished with two more chipboard stickers and some “Nuvo Silver Moondust Glitter Drops” which are included in the November Embellishment Kit.

I really like how the layout turned out and I hope you like it too. You can find the process video on the Hip Kit Club YouTube channel:

Have a great day.
