Hi everyone, Anke here with a new mixed media layout inspiration for Hip Kit Club. For my layout I used the July Hip Kits and I added some mixed media accents using the die cuts and the Lindy’s Magical Powders with are included in the July Color Kit.
First I cut strips from the Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Wild & Free – Howdy Girlfriend paper, sewed them on my page and distressed the edges.
Then I added my photos which I backed with a frame from the Wild & Free Tag and Frame Die Cuts pack which is included in the July Pocket Life Kit.
Then I picked out some die cuts from the Wild & Free Ephemera pack, which is included in the July Main Kit. The hats are perfect for my photos.
To add some mixed media accents to my layout I used the Floral Die Cuts and the Lindy’s Magical Powders which are included in the July Color Kit. I applied the powder on a palette paper (you can also use a piece of foil) , added water with a paint brush and colored the die cuts. I mixed yellow and blue powder to get a green for the leaves. I started with a light green for the first layer, then I added more blue powder to get a darker green for the second layer. For the blossoms I used the pink powder. For the light pink I used just a bit of the powder and for the darker tone I added more powder. I also colored some butterfly die cuts. There’s a process video on the Hip Kit Club YouTube channel, where you can see how I colored the die cuts.
I arranged the colored die cuts around my photos. Then I pierced holes and stitched the butterfly trails.
For the title I combined one of the Wild & Free Chipboard Phrase Stickers which you can find in the July Embellishment Kit and the Navy Puffy Alphabet Stickers which are included in the July Main Kit.
I continued embellishing the page with some of the Mini Chipboard Phrase Stickers and two of the Chipboard Badge Stickers, both included in the July Pocket Life Kit.
To give the layout the final touch I added some blue dots from the Navy Puffy Alphabet Stickers pack which are a great replacement for enamel dots.
Here you can see my finished layout. I hope you like it and feel inspired to add some mixed media accents to your next project. To watch the process video head over to the Hip Kit Club YouTube channel.
