Let’s Get Messy with Mixed Media

Hello Hip Kit friends, Anke here with a new mixed media layout inspiration featuring the March Hip Kits.

 

 

First I cut strips from the Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Happy Days With You – We Go Way Back paper and the Great Company paper. Some of the strips got a binding border made with a border punch.

 

 

Before I adhered the paper strips I created a mixed media background. I applied the yellow Shimmerz paint, which is included in the March Color Kit, on my page. Once the paint was dry I added a layer of modeling paste using the stencil from the February Color Kit.

 

 

Then I glued the paper strips on my layout ,  added some hand stitching and placed my photo.

 

 

I cut out some tickets from the Pinkfresh Studio – Life Right Now – Slow Days paper and tucked them behind my photo. I also added one of the Pinkfresh Studio -Life Right Now – Chipboard Flairs which are included in the March Pocket Life Kit. I fussy cut  some flowers from the Hip Kit Club Exclusive – Happy Days With You – Just Between Us paper and arranged them around my photo, combined with a floral die cut. I also cut out a phrase from the Pinkfresh Studio – Life Right Now – Social Hour paper and added it to my photo.

 

 

For the title I chose some of the Simple Stories – Full Bloom – Foam Dimensional Phrase Stickers, which are included in the March Embellishment Kit and I placed another Foam Phrase Sticker  above my photo.

 

 

I added more fussy cut flowers and a floral sticker to the upper left and the bottom right corner of my paper strip background .

 

 

Finally I added a bird and two cute bees which are also from the Foam Phrases pack which is included in the March Embellishment Kit.

 

 

I had a lot of fun creating this layout. I hope you like it and feel inspired to add some mixed media accents to your next project.
