MOOD BOARD INSPIRED SUNDAY | BRIANNA LEPPER | JANUARY 2022 HIP KITS

Hey friends!  Brianna Lepper here today sharing a new layout for Mood Board Inspired Sunday using the super amazing January 2022 Hip Kits.  Our extra DT prompt for today is to use elements in an unexpected way.  I loved this idea, so I took the acetate photo overlays from the Embellishment Kit and a Pocket Life card from the Pocket Life Kit and turned them into a shaker element.  Here’s my layout:

Here’s the beautiful January Mood Board:

To create the little shaker, I chose a Pocket Life card and sewed one of the photo overlays to it making sure to leave the top open.  Using the mini alphas from the Pocket Life Kit, I spelled out a phrase on the card for a little something extra in my shaker.  I then took some sequins from my stash and poured them in.    I ran it through my sewing machine once more to close it up and that was it.  Super simple!

The circular trees in the mood board inspired me to create some circles using the Nested Circle Dies.  I die cut them out using different sizes and different patterned papers.  Since the top right box in the mood board had some geometric shapes, I thought the black and white patterned paper matched perfectly!  And since there are hints of purple on the mood board, I die cut a few circles using the Grape Jelly HKC Basics from the Cardstock Kit as well.

I used a piece of white textured cardstock as my base and arranged the die cut circles around my page.  I made sure to pop up a few circles on foam tape for a bit of dimension and interest.  I embellished using some of the exclusive ephemera found in the Main Kit.

Here’s another cluster.  I pulled in a few chipboard stickers also from the Main Kit and some puffy stickers from the Pocket Life Kit.

Here’s one more shot:

I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way today!  The mood board is gorgeous and can be interpreted in so many different ways.  I hope that you’ll use something in an unexpected way too!  That shaker was so fun to make and I just love that the photo overlay has that pretty print on it to give it some interest!  See you in my next post friends!
