Lift Challenge Friday

Happy Holidays friends. Todays layout was inspired with this stunning layout by Daniela Janke. I too will be incorporating a pretty stitched heart with layered bouquets and a double border.

Using the November 2021 Kits, this is what I came up with.

Want to create layouts like this? Our monthly kits include coordinated papers, embellishments, and supplies to bring your scrapbook pages to life.

Daniela’s layout had a plain white heart, but  to add more colour and use more of my kit, I turned my heart into a stitched grid. Here’s how:

  1. I folded a piece of cardstock in half, then drew half a heart and fussy cut it out.
  2. Using a ruler, I made a pattern for the grid. I drew random lines and cut out the cardstock heart.
  3. I then trimmed 1/4″ off each side of the pattern pieces.
  4. I traced the cardstock pieces onto patterned paper from the Main Kit. Once sewn, I taped them all back in their place on my white background.

Similar to the sketch, I’ve used Floral Die Cuts, Cardstock Stickers, Foiled Stars, Silver Glitter Dots, Clear Postage Mark Stickers and a few sequins from my stash to build two pretty clusters.

Because the Chipboard Frames in the kit are small, I went with two photos instead of one.

For a little sparkle, I added some silver metallic thread into the Fabric Bow.  I like to mix the patterns because that’s how I roll 😀  Daniela’s layout has a double mat around it, the 2nd one is red. I used red glitter sprinkled on double sided tape to achieve mine.

I hope you found a couple of things you’d enjoy on your own pretty pages using the Hip Kits. Stop by our website to see the gorgeous January Kits!

Have a Happy New Year!
