Hi friends. I hope you have had a wonderful festive period. I have been creating with the November kits and have a fun layout which is a perfect way to document some of your December highlights.
I was inspired by those wonderful acetate numbers in the November Embellishment kit. As I don’t do a daily journal, I have lots of numbers that I can play with. They make an amazing, eye-catching list.
I have sewn the numbers onto the page so that glue doesn’t show through. By extending the stitching I was able to give my journaling a base.
The main feature of the page is the stunning Christmas tree made up of all those lovely stickers, die-cuts and chipboard pieces. To make the tree shape, I simply drew out a triangle lightly in pencil. I arranged the larger pieces first – I cut the string lights border sticker in half so it covered more of the tree.
After that, I arranged the smaller die cuts and chipboard pieces. I filled gaps with those tiny stars and enamel dots.
To finish off the tree, I rolled patterned paper for the trunk and decorated the base with presents. I splattered the decorations with a little white paint for a snowy effect. One last thing I wanted to point out is the tiny warm wishes label at the bottom – I cut this from the manufactuer’s strip. I thought it made a perfect little detail!
Thank you so much for stopping by! I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year!
