Hello everyone, today I have a moodboard based layout for you. I fell in love with the picture of the baubles in the upper left corner and tried to re-create that look on the layout. Unfortunately my November kits never made it to my doorstep so, again, I had to improvise quite a bit. As you will see, I used products from different kits to support my design and I included a special challenge in that I wanted to use the August kits for a festive page.
The first step was to create boxes on the layout which could then hold the individual “baubles” or elements. I used white thread to separate six areas on the page. Our assignment was to celebrate the small stuff and quiet moments so I used a photo of our messy, crafty dining room table where the girls and I were working on our paint by numbers canvasses – the quiet activity that I have picked for this year’s Christmas season.
To create some additional interest I printed the photo twice and cut one in the shape of a frame which was then attached with foam pads. The title came from the gorgeous September kits where I had to undertake a little letter surgery as I had run out of “t”s.
Next I chose the exclusive September flower paper and fussy cut some white blooms which I topped off with a pretty bow and some flowers and greenery from the November kits. For the next compartment I picked the Prima fabric border stickers from the August kit to add some texture, used some festive word stickers and chipboard and added two blue Amy Tangerine flowers (also from the August kit) because they matched the colours in the November kit so well and have a wintery feel.
Then I printed my journaling and cut it into strips and the last compartment is a nod to our activity with fussy cut pencils from the August kit, some cut out paint brushes and a few festive embellishments. I wish you a wonderful last day of the holidays and a Happy New Year. Hopefully, you find some time to be creative today,
xx, Melanie
