Hi friends, it’s Kelly, thanks so much for joining me! Today, I’ve used our gorgeous November 2021 Hip Kits, called Wish Season, it’s entirely Exclusive to the HKC along with a sketch by Niki Rowland.

Cute right? So I’ve pulled these items to my own layout:  three trees, two photos, a bow, sprinkled stars, some bands of journaling, a grid beneath the main focus and a narrow border.

Starting with my background, I cut the Pinkini Cardstock down to an 11″ square. I framed that on a 11.25″ square of Flamingo Cardstock. Both then were framed on the pretty floral patterned paper. I like to add a bit of stitching and did a simple running stitch along  two edges, tone on tone, with 6 strands of DMC Floss.

Niki’s sketch features a grid beneath the main vignette. I made my grid using the Plaid Layered Stencils in the Color Kit. I used all three stencils in three colours by tinting plain white molding paste. I added red acrylic paint to the paste first, then Catherine Poolers ‘Polished’ Ink to the next batch and finally white acrylic paint to the last batch.

My Design Team prompt was to use punches. I mirrored the grid by adding small sections of folded squares in three places. They’re made by punching a 2″ circle then folding in the four sides to make a square. While the Puffy Tab Stickers added a hint of seasonal journaling.

I mixed together two patterns from the Fabric Layered Die Cut Bows. I thought it looked more fun the one.

I used two trees from the Ephemera Pack and made one with the exclusive Stamp & Die Set.  A plethora of stars add charm and sparkle!

Niki’s sketch used stars around the tree’s. I chose a mix of Poinsettia die cuts (they’re star shaped right?) and other ephemera like pretty gifts to maximize the use of my kit.

Finally, and most importantly, my adorable photos were added in Chipboard Frames from the Embellishment Kit and my title ‘Holiday Fun’ is from the Chipboard Phrases.

Niki’s sketch focused on the bottom right corner, but I thought my layout needed some balance in the upper left, so I added three dangling ornaments there from the Ephemera Pack.

Thanks for hanging out with me!  Join in on the Sketch Challenge, I’d love to see your take on it ! Happy scrapping!
