Two Christmas Cards using the paper rolling technique | Christina Buresch-Leyrer | October 2021 Hip Kits

Hello everyone! Christina here with a new scrapbooking inspiration for you. My assignment for today was to create Christmas cards, and since I don’t have my November Kits on hand yet, I had to come up with a creative way to incorporate my October Kits. I first thought of using star shapes (I mean, stars “scream” Christmas, right…?), but then I changed my mind and decided I wanted to try the paper rolling technique.

Never in my life would I have thought it’s that easy! You just roll a stripe of paper around a pen and then glue down the end. Just make sure to use a liquid glue, I would not recommend a glue tape roller, since I don’t find it’s strong enough.

I then arranged my paper rolls of different sizes on my cards so that they create the shape of a Christmas tree, and put some small sized embellishments – like wood buttons, puffy stickers and punched out stars and hearts – on them as my Christmas ornaments.

I couldn’t help but adding also some fussy cut leaves behind my trees…

Finally, I added my Christmas sentiments – the puffy stickers are from the October 2021 Pocket Life Kit, but of course you could use the puffy alphabet stickers from the October 2021 Main Kit instead.

I hope I could inspire you today to get crafty with the awesome Hip Kits.  Thank you so much for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

XOXO

Christina
