Hi friends, Kelly here with a new layout using our Exclusive October 2021 Hip Kits, and three of our October cut files. First, I combined the Floral Pumpkin and Spider Web cut files to make a webbed pumpkin!
You can watch my Silhouette Cameo Tutorial to learn how!
I cut it out of white cardstock, then paper backed the pumpkin with soft pinks, blues and tan coloured paper from the kit, leaving the centre open.
This is where I made a shaker. Using very thin foam tape, I made 8 sections to fill with sequins from my stash, so when I hang it, the sequins won’t all sit on the lower edge.
I added a chain stitch around the edge of my pumpkin with a soft pink DMC floss to help it stand out on the light background.
To make my title, I used ‘happy’ from the chipboard phrase sheet and added ‘Dinner’ with the Mini Puffy Alpha. I decided to stitch on the word, ‘Spooky’ because I wanted a third colour in my title.
First I printed the word on my computer, small enough to fit. Then used tracing paper to transfer it onto my layout. I pierced holes with a very narrow pin and back-stitched with 3 strands of a caramel coloured DMC floss.
I really loaded up my leafy vignettes with Wood Veneer Leaves, Puffy Shape Stickers, Leaf Die Cuts, Wooden Buttons and leaves I made with Octobers, Wreath Leaves cut file. I first cut them from vellum, then stitched two together with gold thread for more texture. Did you spot the gold speckles under my leafy vignettes? They’re Clear Mixed Media Stickers from the Embellishment Kit ! You get so many creative shapes and colours.
I hope you’ve found some inspiration here today,
See you again soon, Kelly
This is incredible! I love it! I have a Cricut so likely won’t be able to duplicate how you joined the two cut files using a Silouette. Darn! Any chance you can share a video using the Cricut?
Hi Rhonda, thanks for watching and your kind message too. I don’t have a Cricut to do a tutorial with. I bet if you visit their website there might be some info there to help.
