SAY CHEESE | JULY MAIN KIT ONLY | Morag Cutts

Hi friends.  It’s Stars and Stripes theme this week celebrating American Independence Day of course.  I opted to include stars and stripes but use them in a different way.  I hope you like it.

These photobooth photos are so much fun so I wanted an energetic layout to reflect the energy teenagers have! To add some colour to the background, I used the packaging technique with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide ink.

After waiting for it to dry, I then stencilled some stars on top. I used a dense brush with Distress Oxide ink – Salvaged Patina, Picked Raspberry, Broken China. I took care to keep the colours individual and some were darker than others for more interest.

I then used a fineliner to outline the stars to give the more impact.

To add a little shine, I used diluted gold ink spray with some cellophane packaging to add blobs of colour.  I love how this looks in real life! I cut strips of paper to form the stripes  – it gives the layout some balance and structure.

I mounted the photo onto the exclusive patterned paper and added that cute wooden button also from the June Main kit.

The cute fabric bow hides some of the photo booth blurb nicely.

I added a cute cluster of stripes and puffy stickers to the top right corner to balance out the page.

I love how this turned out – energetic but no overwhelming!  You can see all the details of the June Main kit here.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
