Hi friends. I am thrilled to share vibrant, fun layout with you today. We had taken a short trip to Paris in August – it was so hot! We found this quiet shady spot by the Eiffel tower which was fantastic. The beautiful map paper by Obed Marshall from the May kit and the gorgeous sunshine watercolour inks by Prima Marketing in the Color Kit are perfect to document my story.
I designed the page on my Silhouette – a large circle and an inverted tab at the top of the page for a little more interest. Once cut, I traced the outline of the circle onto another white card as guidance for the watercolour background.
The Prima watercolours are a liquid ink – they are very saturated so a little goes a long way. You can dilute them with water – I spritzed my mixing palette with water and used a very wet paint brush to apply the ink. I laid down the yellow Marigold using the side of a medium brush. If you wet the paper first, the ink will spread. Try not to cover the entire area. I then added the Tangerine in areas.
Allow the ink to dry and add more layers so you get the watercolour splodges which I really love. When the whole thing was dry, I blended Squeezed Lemonade the Simple Stories Sunshine stencil from the May Color Kit.
I stitched around the circle and tab detail for a little more interest. Using the offcut tab as a template, I hand cut another from the reverse side of map paper. I mounted the whole thing with foam tape onto the watercolour background so that the is a slight shadow below.
The photo is backed with several cards from the Pocket Life kit – I love the texture of these cards! I also layered Pink Fresh Studio Keeping It Real Chipboard stickers with Paige Evans Wonders die-cuts.
I finished off the top of the page with more die-cuts and stickers. Don’t you just love those Wonders banners from the Main kit?
Finally, the perfect title is the Wonders Phrase Thickers from the Pocket Life kit. I love the multi colour words. I finished off with a few heart and star Thickers from the Main kit.
I do hope you like this project as much as I do. Thank you so much for stopping by!
