Hi friends. For today’s layout I have used the amazing April kits and a sprinkle of March kits to create this very pretty layout. I am scrapping an old favourite photo of my daughter on a perfect spring day.
To begin with, I laid down some watercolour paint colour onto the white cardstock. As I didn’t gesso my page first, I had to be quick with the swipe of a large brush. I started in the centre and brushed outwards so the colour was lighter at the edges. This is a really easy technique which helps to ground the layers.
There are heaps of frames and elements on the exclusive Pretty Sweet Chipboard frames in the March Embellishment kit. I picked out a couple of frames to provide structure to the design.
Although I have heaps of papers, I couldn’t resist using the packaging from one of the exlusive packs as my photo mat – it co-ordinated perfectly with the colours.
You can see a second frame poking out from behind my photo – it provides an anchor to the fussy-cut butterfly. I fussy cut two butterflies to layer together. I also drew around one to cut out of vellum found in the cardstock kit. I like how it adds dimension to the page.
I fussy cut some of the tickets from Maggie Holmes Garden Party paper to use in my embellishment cluster. I am really fond of the puffy stickers – April Embellishment kit and Maggie Holmes sticker book – April Pocket Life kit. I added my own little gems to the layout for extra sparkle, together with a few splatters for a bit of texture.
I do hope you have been inspired to create a beautiful spring layout. I’ve mixed elements from the March and April kits as they all go together perfectly!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
