Pocket Life Kit | Kira Ness | April 2021 Hip Kits

Hey there!  It’s Kira and I am back with TWO travelers notebook layouts in my Life Crafted albums, using the April 2021 Hip Kits.  This week I wanted to focus on fussy cutting, which is my favorite way to stretch my kits to the max!  Here’s a look at my first layout:

I’m not sure it’s even possible to look at the Amy Tangerine Monarch paper from the Paper Kit and NOT want to fussy cut it.  So, that’s just what I did!  I had no idea how I was going to use them on a layout, but I knew I wanted to make some sort of DIY embellishment with them.

I decided to layout the butterflies with vellum and then cardstock from the Cardstock Kit.  I used Tutu Pink, Pinkini and Turquoise Mist.

First, I adhered the butterflies to some vellum and fussy cut around the vellum leaving a slightly wider edge.  Then I adhered the butterflies on the cardstock and cut in the same fashion.  To finish off the embellishments, I used my sewing machine to stitch them all together.

I typed up my journaling on my computer and printed my photo at full size in black and white.  Then I played with the placement of the butterflies to create this fun page!

Here’s a look at my second layout:

For my second layout, I fussy cut all of the labels from the Garden Stroll paper from the Paper Kit.  I knew I wanted to layer them up on my page in a fun way.

I decided to go with a different pocket configuration for this layout, and typed my journaling up on a 4×6 card which I embellished with stickers and chipboard found in the Embellishment Kit.

The pocket below my journaling holds a 2.25″x4″ card, so I labeled it Feb. to indicate when this story took place.  I embellished it with stickers from the Pocket Life Kit and the Embellishment Kit.

For my photo page, I layered my photo on top of a piece of cardstock from the Cardstock Kit.  Then I used the labels from the Garden Stroll paper to layer up beneath my photo.  I also added stickers from the Embellishment Kit.  I used some bakers twine from my stash to wrap around the entire page.

Thanks for stopping by!

Kira
