MOODBOARD | ENJOY LIFE | MORAG CUTTS

Hi friends! This month’s moodboard has very striking elements and ideas to jumpstart your creativity.  It certainly inspired me to create this fun layout!

In addition to the moodboard, i was challenged to create a monochromatic layout so I naturally chose pink to co-ordinate with the board.

I thought the sunburst stencil would really help me tell my story of these fun photos of my daughter jumping in our back garden some years ago.  My stencil is small and I wanted much longer sunrays, so I had to extend them by masking off with tape.

First of all, I used ink through the stencil as normal.  I was careful to blend from the inside to the outside so that the edges were faded and soft. I set the stencil in two areas under where my photos would go.

Next, I used washi tape aligned to the edges of a sunray as a mask.  I then blended ink to continue the rays.  I removed the tape and moved onto the next ray.  It did take some time, but I love the result.  To finish off the sunburst effect, I used a dark grey fineliner to outline each one.

To finish off the background, I splattered Shimmerz in the gap –  Inklingz (Naughty or Nice) from December’s Color Kit and watered down black ink.  To get the ‘bokeh’ effect, I dipped the end of a pencil and eraser into black ink and stamped several times. To add sparkle, I smeared the Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer paste from November’s Color kit over the sunburst.

My photos are mounted onto the What a Day paper by Pink Fresh Studios (Main Kit) and added ephemera from the Pocket Life kit and Embellishment Kit. I love that heart card from the Pocket Life kit.

The title is made up from the Simple Stories Hello Today chipboard  stickers from the Main Kit and also the hollographic stickers from May 2020.

To finish, those sweet sequins came from a kit last year and have a lovely pearlescent finish. The kits are always so generous that there are always lots of left over goodies.

I do hope that you like the result as much as I do and perhaps you might give this technique a try.  Thank you so much for stopping by.
