Hey creative minds !!! Jennifer Rambert here today with a new layout using some of the Hip Kit exclusives from the January 2021 and December 2020 kits. My mission was to use Chipboard frames and here is what I did:
To start, I looked for all the frames that I could use and with which there would be consistency. So I chose several frames from the December 2020 kit (red, green and blue) and the embroidery frames from the January 2021 kit. So I went on this color combo. I coated a white cardstock with transparent Gesso then I made a green halo with Shimmerz (Vibez Love Ocean # 9 and Spritz 4 Leaf Clover) and Lindy’s (Jana’s Jade) inks. Then I added an ink frame with the help of the stencil from the December 2020 Color Kit, in the middle of my page, going beyond the halo.
I then arranged the frames diagonally. In the green frame, I inserted a photo and the other photo is just placed on a light blue frame. I glued the photos with 3D foam (and cardboard for the green side!). In the middle of these photos, I inserted a die cut of the January 2021 collection which will be the title of this page. I found that there was a lot of empty space on each side of my layout so I cut the angles on each side and added red and white grid paper from the December 2020 collection that I have then machine sewn with black thread.
All that remains is to decorate this layout! I added Chipboards stickers words, puffy buttons, cardstock die cuts flowers and wood veneer from the January 2021 collection and cardstock die cuts flowers and leaves as well as enamel dots from the December 2020 collection. I end with a few splashes of red ink.
I love how this layout turned out! I also like this color combo obtained with the mixture of these two magnificent collections. Chipboard frames offer so many assembly possibilities and I find they are sufficient on their own! Just a few more embellishments and that’s it !!! More close-up:
Hope you felt inspired by this layout today. You can watch the video of the process right here:
