Hi Hip Kit friends, it’s Vicki here today to share my very first layout using the fabulous January 2021 kits.
I am following the February moodboard without realising at the time that my post is still in January! So, don’t worry, you’ve not missed a day, it is still January! lol!

So, I took inspiration from the title ‘Love Grows Here’ and decided to use that on my layout. I love the patterned paper which has a big rainbow and I cut it out completely – the cloud and each strip of the rainbow, I cut separately. I distressed the edge of the cloud and stitched around the edge in white thread. It adds that extra bit of dimension to it which I love.
I also distressed the edges of the rainbow strips to add some texture.
I wanted to use the fab rolled flower die cuts from the January Colour Kit and as they are cut from watercolour paper, there was no prep needed to use the Shimmerz from the colour kit to paint them. The purple and yellow are from the January kit and the pink is from the December colour kit. Once dry, I rolled them loosely into flower shapes and stuck them to the page with some other die cut florals and other embellishments to finish the page.
