Hello Hip Kit Club fans, Becki here, to share my first project as a design team member. First of all, I thought I’d tell you a little bit about myself.
I’m from Idaho, USA. In 1998 I started scrapbooking when I was given the assignment to create a scrapbook for a Home Economics class. My husband Justin and I have three wonderful children. Two teenagers here and one angel in heaven. I am incredibly passionate about telling my story and documenting those everyday moments that are truly priceless. Memory keeping is my passion!
I define my style as colorful, bold, and classic. There is a magic that happens when you tell a story with an accompanying photo. Telling my imperfect story and sharing it with others is a huge part of who I am. I love sharing my passion for memory keeping. I hope to inspire you to tell your own story with the beautiful kits from the Hip Kit Club.
Now, let’s jump in and get started with my first design team project. I couldn’t wait to dive in and create with the December 2020 kits. The challenge for this week was to create a layout with a white cardstock background.
I created this layout with one 6×4 photo and a line of embellishments that curved around the left of the photo. I don’t gravitate to white backgrounds naturally so this was a challenge for me. I had to add a splash of color by adding ½” strips of striped patterned paper around all four sides.
The base of the embellishments are the five chipboard frames. Around the frames, I added tons of die cuts, a few puffy stickers and enamel dots.
Of course, I added lots of dimension with foam adhesive to give the layout tons of texture.
This layout turned out better than I imagined it (don’t you love it when that happens!) I hope that my layout inspires you to create a layout with the December 2020 kits and a white cardstock background.
